Seriously. Am I the only one who thinks they hired Rorschach as a copywriter for khaki pants campaigns??

Just look at this sentence: "BUT TODAY, THERE ARE QUESTIONS OUR GENDERLESS SOCIETY HAS NO ANSWERS FOR. THE WORLD SITS IDLY BY AS CITIES CRUMBLE..."

Holy shit, man. Not before I have my coffee. Remember, this is ... an advert for khaki pants. KHAKI PANTS, people.

(P.S. I love how it says "THE WORLD DECIDED IT NO LONGER NEEDED MEN", because obviously "the world" is code for "the women". BECAUSE WOMEN RUIN EVERYTHING OMG AND THEY HAVE COOTIES, YUCK.......)

That advert is painful.

But hearing it as read in an angry gravelly monotone almost makes up for it.

At first, I said to myself "Maybe this is a joke?" Then I checked Dockers.com. It's not a joke. It's their actual campaign. I mean, I think they're trying to be semi-edgy/semi-joking, but I mean ._.

Also, the image of Rorschach reading this advert makes me feel a little better.

Hee. He'd be all over this ad. "IT IS TIME TO ANSWER THE CALL TO MANHOOD." It is a very Rorschach-like thing to say.

I don't mind at all! Thank you :D I've friended you back.

Holy crap. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed "Intrinsic". (The idea of Cold War sci-fi really is something I can get into, and I think you did a great job with the idea of a Soviet Manhattan. And all the implications of a Field Subtractor actually existing. . . just fascinating.) Also, "Retribution" was very satisfying. Bubastis needs to be avenged.

I don't have any objections about you linking my fics. (Actually, I'm really flattered. Thank you.)

*basks* Thank you!

(I grew up during the Cold War and read the GN a couple of years before it ended. When I watched the movie finally a couple of months ago, it was quite the blast from the past. I had almost forgotten the doomsday perspective we had back then, despite my main fandom being another Cold War one.)
